Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress who works in both film, television as well as theatre. Her most well-known role is Teri Joe the fiery lawyer on her role on the Showtime series Soul Food. When she got married, she changed her name to Nikki Kodjoe. Her birthplace and childhood was in Baltimore Maryland. In her early years as an infant, she showed an aptitude for acting and was awarded the Best Actress Award in the Maryland High School Competition. Her career in acting started after she was employed by the Washington Ballet Company and theatre. The actress received lots of praise for her debut large role in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love. In the following years, she was a star in movies like "Boogie Nights Spark" and "Blue Streak". The film was highly praised for her role as a character in Soul Food. In addition, she has appeared on TV programs like Second Time Around" and Empire. The stage was the place she appeared in several productions early in her career. Parker, who takes keen interest in politics, is married to model and actor Boris Kodjoe. They have two children.

Contractor, who was born in Mumbai and was a resident of Nigeria for seven years experienced a variety of trips and experiences in the world of culture at very young. After boarding school, over seven years London the family moved to Toronto Canada where she spent most of her youth and into early adulthood. Then, in Toronto, Contractor excelled in academics, and was trained to become ballet dancer of classical training. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts which was a highly specialized high school that taught more than just dance but also theatre. Contractor started acting at the age of 16, following nearly 10 years in dance. When she completed her high school education, she was awarded a full Scholarship to University of Toronto. At the University of Toronto she completed the Master of Arts in Theatre. She she also double-majored in sociology and psychology. Contractor attended the highly-regarded Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada, for Pericles. After one full year, she was given the role of lead. After the show ran for 92 times, she was rewarded with positive reviews. The production was recognized as the best production by Canadian critics. She was given the chance to enroll in the Stratford Conservatory, which allows only eight males and four woman to study traditional theatre. Contractor was ecstatically accepted. The actor's involvement in the upcoming season of plays was confirmed, and she received the role of Hermia from A Midsummer Night's Dream.
